Cape Town - Former Springbok captain Bob Skinstad has quit his role as a SuperSport rugby commentator and moved his family to England.

A spokesperson for pay-channel, SuperSport, told Sport24 on Monday that they’ll look to use Skinstad for guest appearances in future.

The Springboks' end-of-year-tour starts with a match against the Barbarians at Wembley on November 5, after which they tackle Eddie Jones' England at Twickenham the following weekend.

“Skinstad stepped down as a full-time commentator in June, after the final Springbok-Ireland Test match. He had been with SuperSport for eight years. Despite moving overseas, he will be used as a freelance commentator from time to time," the spokesperson said.

Skinstad, 40, played 42 Tests for the Springboks between 1997 and 2007, captaining the side in 12 of those matches.

Skinstad was a Rugby World Cup winner in 2007 in France.

Skinstad is believed to have accepted a job offer from coal mining magnate, Peter Gain, and will be based in England.
