A strange thing happened at Ellis Park back in 2009, just moments after the British & Irish Lions had gained a consolation but comfortable 28-9 victory over the Springboks.

The players were celebrating like men who had just emulated the class of 1997 win a series win on South African soil, which they actually didn't.
