Pack guru: ‘Draw Marcell back in, Boks … he’s tough as a Bakkies’

The Springboks are likely to go with what they’ve got in loose forward resources now for the remainder of the Test series against the British and Irish Lions.

But their back-row cupboard would be bolstered substantially, when the national team’s thoughts turn in a hurry to the Rugby Championship, by the respective infusions to the squad of much-travelled Marcell Coetzee and booming, current Currie Cup tyro Evan Roos.

So says Gary Gold, head coach of the United States and the specialist Bok forwards coach when they beat the 2009 Lions 2-1 before going on to add the then-Tri-Nations title as well.
