Cape Town - The Cheetahs have congratulated Philip Snyman after the experienced sevens campaigner was named Springbok Sevens captain.

Snyman will captain the Blitzboks in the next two legs of the World Rugby Sevens Series, in Wellington and Sydney.

Snyman will be standing in for the regular captain, Kyle Brown, who’s struggling with a shoulder injury.

“Free State Rugby is proud of Free State Cheetah player, Philip Snyman, who was named as captain of the Springbok Sevens team. We wish him the best of luck with the task ahead,” the Cheetahs posted on their official website.

The Wellington Sevens takes place at the Westpac Stadium on January 30 and 31, and will be followed by the Sydney event a week later on February 6 and 7 at the Allianz Stadium.
