Based on the semi-finals and some good evidence preceding it, the correct protagonists in the Bulls and Sharks contest Saturday's Currie Cup final at Loftus.

The resurgence of the Bulls as a potent domestic force under Jake White's charge over the last few months, after they had laboured in the early stages of Super Rugby 2020, is already abundantly documented ... and the all-domestic Super Rugby Unlocked title is safely in the Loftus cabinet, too.

As for Sean Everitt's Sharks, while yet to recapture the level of vibrancy that led their charge to the top of the Super Rugby ladder at its mid-March abandonment, they have sent fresh signals in recent weeks that they'll give the Bulls a serious run for their money.
