After nearly eight years of being politely asked to walk the plank, former CEO Brian van Zyl returned to Sharks rugby with a bang - helping orchestrate the MVM Holdings American takeover.
Van Zyl, who built the Sharks brand into what it is from the "Banana Boys" in 1996, never could quite swallow the manner of his hastened exit in 2013, when he was replaced by World Cup-winning Springbok captain John Smit.
