Chris Smith's composed performance for the Bulls against Western Province last week should be tempered by the fact that it was more of a glimpse than anything else.

He's only started two games under Jake White to date and is still a relative rookie at senior level.

But there's already enough evidence to suggest that Smith is focused on becoming Morne Steyn's long-term successor at Loftus... and being perfectly happy biding his time.
