England rise in rankings, Boks 3rd

Cape Town - England moved up to sixth place in the official World Rugby rankings released on Monday.

This follows their 40-9 Six Nations win over Italy in Rome at the weekend.

Eddie Jones’s men replaced Ireland, who have dropped down to eighth spot in the rankings after losing 10-9 to France in Paris.

The French moved into seventh spot courtesy of their one-point win at the Stade de France.

The top five remains unchanged with the Springboks still in third, trailing Australia and world champions New Zealand.

Wales, who beat Scotland 27-23 in Cardiff, remain fourth in the rankings, with Argentina fifth.

The Scots are languishing in 11th spot in the rankings.
