The Sharks confirmed on Saturday that head coach Sean Everitt has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will run until 2024.

"We are delighted to announce that our much-respected Head Coach, Sean Everitt, has extended his contract until 2024. This is fantastic news that will ensure continuity in our coaching ranks," the club announced on Twitter.

Everitt has been with the club since 2008 as a youth coach before slowly moving up the ranks.

The 51-year-old became assistant coach of the senior side in 2017 before being named head coach in 2020.

His contract extension will come as good news for everyone at the KwaZulu-Natal outfit after the club sold 51% of its majority stake to US consortium MVM Holdings in January.

Soon after, Sharks flexed its financial muscle to lure Springbok captain Siya Kolisi from Western Province Rugby Union (WPRU).

The 29-year-old ended his 11-year stay with the Cape side to become the Sharks' latest marquee signing in February.
