The move was confirmed by the player's agency, In Touch Sports, and the Kimberley-based franchise on Monday.

"Griquas would like to welcome Masixole Banda to Kimberley. Masixole has joined the team on a long-term basis and will be available to represent Griquas in this year's Currie Cup," Griquas said in a statement.

The 32-year-old, who can play fullback, flyhalf and wing, started his senior career at the Eastern Province Kings in 2014 before joining the Border Bulldogs for two seasons (2014-2016).

He returned to Port Elizabeth in 2017 and has since been regular for the Kings in the PRO14.
