Leicester Tigers captain Tom Youngs has been labelled a "prostitute" in a gaffe by an American website.

Youngs, who packs down in the front row at hooker, was recently cited for confronting referee Ian Tempest during Leicester's Premiership 26-23 home loss to Bristol Bears.

A fuming Youngs reportedly told the match official: "You're f****** not strong enough to [award] a penalty try!"

American website, Insider Voice, picked up on the news but the reporter and sub-editors, clearly not familiar with rugby union terminology, horribly botched the name of his position in a headline.

They opted for the alternative version of the noun's other meaning to create the following headline: Tom Youngs: Leicester Tigers prostitute charged by RFU after Bristol incident.

The article was published six days ago and has yet to be amended.

It's also not the first time the website has got the position wrong in a headline.

When Bath's Ross Batty announced his retirement earlier this month, their headline contained the word 'whore' instead of hooker.
