The Rebels welcome back their skipper Dane Haylett-Petty, who has recovered from a foot injury. With TJ Perenara being rested and Dane Coles still unavailable due to injury, the Hurricanes will be captained by Beauden Barrett, while Richard Judd will be his half-back partner. Jeffery Toomaga-Allen is in for the injured Ben May and Isaia Walker-Leawere starts at lock in place of Kane Le’aupepe.
The Hurricanes are favourites to win this evening and they have also not lost at home against Australian opposition since 2015, when they went down against Waratahs 29-24.
The Rebels had a bye last week, while the Hurricanes beat the Chiefs 47-19 to make it four victories in their last five games.

Genia finds a gap and the Rebels finally string a few phases together. Unfortunately for them the ball is knocked-on for a Hurricanes scrum.

The visitors secure the scrum only to turn it over with a knock-on, five metres from the line. That is an opportunity missed. They simply cannot afford that.

Angus Cottrell secures a line-out for the Rebels and they make their way into the Hurricanes half, only to turn it over yet again. The Canes kick deep and English is forced to carry it over for a five metre scrum.

The Rebels secure the line-out and string seven phases together after the set-piece, before losing it in the tackle. Goosen then finds a good touch for the Hurricanes.
The Rebels secure another penalty and this time Asafo Aumua is penalised at the scrum. The Rebels go for the corner and then secure a penalty at the breakdown.
The penalties are mounting against the Hurricanes and now Vaea Fifita is penalised for taking out a player in the line-out.
The game is losing some shape now and the Rebels have failed to come away with anything despite the early second half pressure.
