Edinburgh see off spirited Cheetahs

Cape Town - The Cheetahs were outclassed by Edinburgh in their PRO14 encounter at the Murrayfield Stadium in Scotland on Friday evening.

Edinburgh won 37-21 after leading 20-7 at half-time.

The home side scored four tries through Ben Toolis, Darcy Graham, Viliame Mata and Jamie Ritchie.

Flyhalf Simon Hickey had a perfect show with the boot - landing four conversions and slotting three penalties to lead his side to a bonus point win.

The Cheetahs replied with three tries by Nico Lee and a brace by Rabs Maxwane. Flyhalf Tian Schoeman landed all three conversions.

Franco Smith's charges remain winless in six PRO14 matches and remain at the bottom of the Conference A standings.

The PRO14 action takes a break with the tournament set to resume at the end of October, the Cheetahs host the Cardiff Blues in Bloemfontein on Saturday, October 27 (19:15).

On Saturday, the Southern Kings take on Benetton Rugby at Stadio Comunale di Monigo (20:00 SA time).
