Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie has named his team for Wednesday's preparation series clash against the Sharks in Bloemfontein.

Fourie made numerous changes to the starting XV which beat the Stormers 34-33 in Cape Town late last month.

Ruan Pienaar, who made his return to action against the Stormers off the bench, replaces Tian Meyer and also takes the captain's armband from Carl Wegner.

In other backline changes, Malcolm Jaer starts at right wing in place of Duncan Saal, while Dries Swanepoel comes in for Chris Smit at outside centre.

Up front, Aidon Davis takes the No 8 jersey from Jeandre Rudolph, while in the front row, Khutha Mchunu, starts at tighthead prop in place of Aranos Coetzee and Cameron Dawson comes in for Schalk Ferreira at loosehead.

Wednesday's clash at Free State Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
