Blow for Boks as Gelant goes under the knife

accreditation

Cape Town - The Springboks have received a setback ahead of the Rugby Championship with fullback Warrick Gelant set to be sidelined.

Gelant, who was included in the Springbok training squad, has announced that he will undergo shoulder surgery that will rule him out for a few months.

Gelant will therefore be unavailable for the majority of the Springboks’ Rugby Championship campaign.

The Boks open their Rugby Championship campaign against Argentina in Durban on August 18 and play their final match against New Zealand in Pretoria on October 6.
