Both players missed the past fortnight's two Tests against Argentina due to injury, but according to Monday's Cape Times, are on track to be fit enough to board the plane to Australia on Saturday.
Should the duo come through training unscathed they are expected to move straight into the starting team for the clash against the Wallabies in Perth on September 6.
The Boks scraped past Argentina (13-6, Pretoria and 33-31, Salta) and will have to up their game if they are to keep their top spot on the Rugby Championship log.
Team doctor Craig Roberts told the supersport.com website they expect the duo to be ready for the Perth Test.
“We will get feedback from the Bulls and Sharks today (Monday). The feedback I’ve got so far is that they are doing well. Both Victor and Willem have been running nicely. We’re confident that they will be ready for Perth but I’ll need to assess them before I make that decision,” said Roberts.
