Cape Town - Springbok prop Jannie du Plessis is set to play his 50 Test which will see him and brother Bismarck achieve a special milestone.

According to Die Burger’s website, Jannie du Plessis and flyhalf Morné Steyn will play their 50 Tests for the Boks when they tackle Australia at Newlands on Saturday.

Jannie’s brother, Bismarck, already has 52 Tests behind his name which means the duo will become the first brothers in history to play 50 Tests for the Springboks.

The only other occasion where two Springboks reached their 50-Test milestone together was when Bryan Habana and Jean de Villiers started against the All Blacks in Durban four years ago.

Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer will announce his team later on Wednesday. Adriaan Strauss is expected to replace Bismarck du Plessis in the starting team, with Fourie du Preez the other expected change at the expense of Ruan Pienaar.

Saturday’s clash kicks off at 17:00.
