Cape Town - Springbok fans can breathe a sigh of relief at the news Trevor Nyakane's leg injury is not serious and the burly front-rower will be fit and ready for the start of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Nyakane was helped from the field shortly after coming on as a second half substitute in the Springboks' 41-7 victory over World Cup hosts Japan on Friday.

Obvious concerns for the Bulls tighthead's tournament hopes were allayed however with confirmation from the Springbok camp that the injury is not serious.

Nyakane has 41 Test caps to his name.

The Springboks open their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on Saturday, September 21 in Yokohama.
