Edinburgh - Alan Solomons quit as head coach of Edinburgh on Wednesday after the Scottish club lost three of their opening four Celtic League matches this season.

The South African will be replaced by former Scotland flyhalf Duncan Hodge on a caretaker basis.

Solomons took charge of the Scottish capital club three years ago.
