Cape Town - World Rugby has announced the pools for the fifth round of the World Rugby Sevens Series in Las Vegas, to be played on March 4-6.

The Blitzboks, who lost in the Bronze Final to Fiji at this past weekend’s event in Sydney, are top seeds in Pool D and will face hosts USA, Canada and Wales.

New Zealand, winners of the past two events in Wellington and Sydney, are in Pool A alongside Kenya, Portugal and Russia.

Australia, runners-up on home soil in Sydney, will meet England, Scotland and Japan in Pool B.

Fiji await Argentina, Samoa and France in possibly the toughest of the four pools, and an exact repeat of the Sydney event, in Pool C.

The Pacific Islanders will be looking to extend their remarkable record of 39 victories from their last 39 pool matches when they hit American soil where they are defending champions.

Meanwhile, the Blitzboks are now one of three countries tied with 69 points at the top of the standings after four rounds of World Rugby Sevens Series action.

Fiji have the best point average of the trio, and are therefore first on the log, followed by South Africa and New Zealand.

World Rugby Sevens Series log standings after round four in Sydney:

1. Fiji (69 points)

2. South Africa (69)

3. New Zealand (69)

5. Argentina (54)

6. England (51)

7. United States (49)
