Cape Town - Springbok Sevens veteran Chris Dry says New Zealand will not like the prospect of facing them in the pool stages at this weekend’s Cape Town Sevens.

“I don’t think they would like to play against us because we’ve done out job well over the past two seasons,” the 30-year-old told Netwerk24.

South Africa and New Zealand were grouped together in Pool A which also features Samoa and Zimbabwe.

Dry, who recently returned after a knee injury, added that they were not perturbed when they heard they would face the All Blacks Sevens in pool stages.

“In any case, if you want to win the tournament, you have to be able to beat all the teams.”

The Kiwis won the title in Dubai last weekend and are also the defending champions in Cape Town.

The Blitzboks, however, have won the World Rugby Sevens Series for the past two seasons.

The hosts will open their campaign against Samoa at 12:27 on Saturday, before tackling Zimbabwe at 15:48.
They will face the All Blacks at 19:56 in the final game on the opening day.
