Cape Town - South African-born loose forward CJ Stander has been named in The Telegraph‘s Six Nations Dream Team for round one.

The former Bulls flank made his Test debut for Ireland against Wales in Dublin and was named man-of-the-match following an outstanding performance.

The British newspaper also made Stander their player of the weekend, commenting:

“International debuts have rarely been more barnstorming. A total of 23 carries and 11 tackles earns the Munster man the award by a nose from Billy Vunipola.

“What a debut. Stander was everywhere, making 23 carries and generally looking like a man possessed. The first of many, many caps on that form.”

The Telegraph’s Six Nations team-of-the-weekend:

15. Mike Brown (England), 14. Hugo Bonneval (France), 13. Michele Campagnaro (Italy), 12. Jamie Roberts (Wales), 11 Virimi Vakatawa (France), 10. Carlo Canna (Italy), 9. Conor Murray (Ireland), 8. Billy Vunipola (England), 7. John Hardie (Scotland), 6. CJ Stander (Ireland), 5. George Kruis (England), 4. Devin Toner (Ireland), 3. Samson Lee (Wales), 2. Dylan Hartley (England), 1. Rob Evans (Wales)
