For all the glowing praise that he received in the build-up to the Test against Scotland this past weekend, it's debatable whether Willie le Roux would've started at fullback for the Springboks had Damian Willemse been available.

National coach Jacques Nienaber had continually reiterated that some positions have been identified for the current tour - which concludes against England at Twickenham on Saturday - where depth can be built.

One of them is the No 15 jersey, where Willemse seemed set for a decent run before sustaining concussion early in the clash with Wales and forced the Bok coaching staff to revert to the tried and tested.
