The Springboks are "pleasantly surprised" at the recovery progress made by skipper Siya Kolisi.

Kolisi went under the knife late last month after suffering a knee injury playing a URC game for the Sharks against Munster on 22 April.

Initially, there were fears that Kolisi's hopes of going to the World Cup in France were in tatters, but he's since shown marked improvement.
