Springbok lock RG Snyman is nearing a return to action as he recovers from a knee injury.
Snyman's Irish club Munster provided an injury update on Tuesday, stating on their official website that the Bok enforcer was "following a modified training programme and progressing well".
Snyman has endured a challenging past few months, with a serious knee injury and then a freak fire-pit accident forcing him out of both the British & Irish Lions series and Rugby Championship.
At the end of August, the Boks announced that he was unable to make the trip to Australia "due to personal reasons".
Munster open their United Rugby Championship campaign against the Sharks next weekend. Snyman won't be available for this encounter, but it does appear that he is finally nearing a return to play.
It could put him in contention for the Springboks' end-of-year tour to Europe.
The Boks tackle Wales in Cardiff (6 November), Scotland in Edinburgh (13 November) and England in London (20 November).
