Cape Town - Danny Cipriani is expected to start at flyhalf for England in Saturday’s final Test against the Springboks at Newlands.

According to BBC Sport, it is understood the Springbok camp is expecting Cipriani to be in the starting XV when Eddie Jones named his England side on Thursday.

The 30-year-old has been taking a leading role in training this week as England look to end a run of six consecutive defeats.

He came off the bench in last weekend’s 23-12 loss in Bloemfontein, earning his first Test cap for three years.

Cipriani will replace George Ford, who has been Jones’ preferred option at flyhalf in recent times.

"Danny is back because of his consistency of effort. I've just been impressed by his diligence and his desire to be part of the team. He's got fitter. He's understanding that there's a role to play in the team and he can play it,” Jones said earlier this week.

In other changes, England will field a new loosehead prop and No 8 after Mako Vunipola returned home for the birth of his first child and his brother Billy out with a fractured thumb.

Joe Marler and Nathan Hughes are set to start, while Dan Robson could make his debut at scrumhalf.

The Springboks have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-Test series.
