Cape Town - There have been a number of unwanted 'firsts' in Springbok rugby over the last year.

The loss to Japan at the 2015 World Cup, losses at home and away to Argentina and a first ever home loss to Ireland in Allister Coetzee's first game in charge.

Now, as the Springboks prepare for Saturday's Test against England at Twickenham, they do so kin the knowledge that they have another piece of history to preserve.

The Springboks, remarkably, have not lost to England in any of the last 12 Tests they have played.

You would have to go back to November 2006 - 10 years ago - to find the last time that an English side beat the Boks.

That day, at Twickenham, the Boks lost 23-21.

Butch James and Akona Ndungane scored tries for Jake White's men, but in the end one conversion was the difference.

Since then. the Boks have won 11 of the 12 meeting between the sides with one 14-14 draw in Port Elizabeth in 2012.

In total, the sides have met 37 times with South Africa having won 23, England 12 while their have been 2 draws.
