The identity of the next man in the hot-seat, widely expected to be Jacques Nienaber, will take place in Pretoria.

Nienaber has filled the role of Springbok defence coach since 2018.

SA Rugby president Mark Alexander will make the announcement, while former coach and now Director of Rugby, Rassie Erasmus, will also be in attendance.

Erasmus stepped down from the role two years into his six-year contract with SA Rugby after winning the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Whoever does succeed Erasmus will be the 14th Springbok coach since readmission in 1992.

The 13 previous coaches were (with victory %): John Williams (20%), Ian McIntosh (33%), Kitch Christie (100%), Andre Markgraaff (61%), Carel du Plessis (37%), Nick Mallett (71%), Harry Viljoen (53%), Rudolf Straeuli (52%), Jake White (67%), Peter de Villiers (62%), Heyneke Meyer (67%), Allister Coetzee (47%) and Rassie Erasmus (65%).
