The seemingly never-ending Stellenbosch University versus Jurie Roux legal battle took another significant step in the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday. 

It was a long day, and as Judge Vincent Saldanha conceded at the end, there was a lot of repetition. 

An arbitration in 2020 and a resulting appeal at the end of 2021 have already ruled that Roux should pay the university R37 million for mishandling the institution's funds during his time as a senior member of the finance committee from 2002 to 2010.
