If Frans Steyn isn't going to be a 100-cap Springbok, the 15-year international career record is the least accolade a player of his wondrous rugby talent deserves.

Of course, the two Rugby World Cup trophies and twin British & Irish Lions series wins cemented his legendary status of a modern Springbok.

But, as Steyn approaches the weekend against Scotland when he will surpass Victor Matfield (14 years, 122 days) as the longest-serving Bok, he should have been up there with Tendai "Beast" Mtawarira among the most-capped Springboks.
