Springbok star Cheslin Kolbe says that he does not mind playing flyhalf or scrumhalf for French club Toulouse as long as he is contributing positively to the team.
Usually deployed at wing or fullback, the 27-year-old has been thrust into wearing either the number 9 or 10 jersey for the Top 14 franchise in recent weeks.
Kolbe played at flyhalf last weekend when Toulouse clinched a slender 14-11 victory over La Rochelle in a Top 14 encounter.
The former Western Province and Stormers utility back last wore the number 10 jersey during his school playing days.
"I definitely enjoyed playing there the past weekend. Obviously, it's out of your comfort zone, for me I haven't played there for a very long time since school back in South Africa," Kolbe said as quoted by SA Rugby Mag.
"Just anything to give back to the team and just make sure it has a positive impact on the team and the performance on the field.
"I'm happy to play wherever the team needs me and I’m happy we also got the win last week. For me playing at flyhalf was to give that edge to the team.
"It wasn't about me looking for opportunities but to create opportunities for other players around me. If there are opportunities to exploit on the field, I'm happy to do so, but I just wanted to play a simple game and obviously make sure that we always broke the advantage line.’
"I obviously love playing on the wing, but I don’t mind playing wherever the team needs me. I just want to make sure that whatever opportunity I get to be on the field and play this wonderful game and just express the talent that I’m blessed with."
