The Springbok squad for next month's tour to the Northern Hemisphere will be named on Tuesday and fans can expect to see at least a couple of new faces.

The Boks will play Tests against Wales (6 November), Scotland (13 November) and England (20 November) as they bring that curtain down on an eventful 2021 that saw them win the British & Irish Lions series and then stumble to third place in the Rugby Championship.

According to Rapport, scrumhalf Faf de Klerk is expected to be ruled out of the entire tour with a hip injury while the likes of Frans Malherbe, RG Snyman, Jaden Hendrikse , Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg, Pieter-Steph du Toit and perhaps even star wing Cheslin Kolbe could also miss out.

Kolbe is still battling a knee injury.

It means that the Boks will have to field a new starting scrumhalf, with the Rapport article adding that Sharks halfback Grant Williams is expected to earn a maiden call-up to the squad.

Stormers captain Salmaan Moerat, meanwhile, is also understood to be in the running for a call-up in what would complete a stunning recovery from a career-threatening neck injury.

Moerat has been on the Springbok radar for some time, but he spent a large chunk of this year out after a freakish training ground injury left him fighting for his career.
