South Africans will not see Rassie Erasmus at a rugby match, whether carrying water or perched up high in the coach's box, until the end of 2022.

That was the main takeaway from Wednesday's World Rugby ruling that scolded this country's proud rugby chief for the video he made back in July that criticised Australian referee Nic Berry following the first Test against the British & Irish Lions in Cape Town.

It took months, but the game's governing body, through an independent misconduct committee, could not have been clearer in its judgement following three full days of testimony and hearings last month.
