Cape Town - Springbok wing Raymond Rhule says he has put his nightmare Rugby Championship performance against the All Blacks in Albany behind him.

Rhule, 24, was recently dropped from the Springbok side following a record 57-0 loss to their arch rivals last month.

Rhule missed nine tackles in the defeat to New Zealand but in an interview with Netwerk24 he said the performance was a one-off and “does not define” him as a player.

“You get your good and bad days and this was my bad day. I’ve worked way too hard on my skills and to get where I am for everything to be ruined by one bad game.”

Rhule said he had a chat with Springbok coach Allister Coetzee, who assured him that he had not lost faith in his abilities.

“You always know where you stand with him,” Rhule said of Coetzee.

Rhule, who boasts seven Test caps, is currently in Europe with the Cheetahs where he will play for them for the last time on Saturday.

The Cheetahs tackle Italian side Zebre in a PRO14 game in Parma, before Rhule - and team-mate Sergeal Petersen - will return to South Africa where they will join up with their new franchise, the Stormers in Cape Town.

The Cheetahs announced that the duo will be contracted to the Cape franchise from November 1.
