French club Montpellier are looking to sign Stormers prop Steven Kitshoff.

According to Rapport, Montpellier hope to lure Kitshoff to France after the British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa next year.

Kithoff, a world champion with the Springboks in 2019 where he formed part of the famed "Bomb Squad" has signed a contract with WP Rugby till 2023.

However, reports suggest that his contract includes a clause that allows him to negotiate with European clubs should they be looking to sign him.

Kitshoff has played in France before, turning out for Bordeaux between 2015 and 2017 before returning to the Cape.

Earlier this year, Montpellier tried to sign World Rugby Player of the Year Pieter-Steph du Toit although the Stormers managed to hold onto their prized asset.
