Nollis stays in charge of Bulls, for now...

Cape Town - Bulls coach Nollis Marais remains at the helm of the Pretoria team for Friday night’s Super Rugby match against the Sharks in Durban.

With the Bulls struggling in Super Rugby, New Zealander John Mitchell was last month appointed as the union’s executive of rugby.

It was announced that Mitchell would take charge of the Super Rugby side, with Marais remaining as Currie Cup coach.

However, Mitchell - who is busy completing his duties as USA head coach - officially only joins the Bulls next month and it appears that Marais will see out the remainder of this year’s Super Rugby campaign.

After Friday’s game against the Sharks, the Bulls conclude their campaign by hosting the Southern Kings (July 8) and Stormers (July 15).

They’ve won only three of 12 games and are out of the playoff race.

Marais told Netwerk24 that Mitchell will have no influence on the preparations for Friday’s game in Durban.

“It’s all the same for me. If the Bulls win, then there will be people saying it’s because of John’s influence. But I’ve been through a lot this season and it doesn’t bother me,” the embattled coach said.

Friday’s clash at Kings Park is scheduled for 19:00.
