Rugby comeback? Unless he's going to shock us all (and he's defied both science and logic before) Schalk Burger is safely in retirement now after his massively distinguished rugby career.

But my fancy is that the popular, ever-affable 37-year-old is going to make a breakthrough of a different kind, if he hasn't already, in a different field during this South African summer: as a hard-to-eclipse television pundit.

The 86-cap Springbok loose forward has, of course, already kicked off with SuperSport with some aplomb, since his relocation back to beloved home terrain in the Western Cape after completing his Saracens obligations last year.
