In a rugby world rocked by the global coronavirus pandemic, contract extensions are far from the top of the list of talking points or priorities.

SA Rugby has still not given a confirmed date for a return to professional competition, the future of the South African franchises and their participation in Super Rugby remains unresolved, there are obvious concerns over exactly how dire the economic impacts of the coronavirus will be on the local game and the participation of the Springboks in the 2020 Rugby Championship in November is also understood to be in doubt. 

South Africa's professional outfits have returned to non-contact training in small groups, but there has not been much positive news coming out of rugby in recent months thanks to the virus.
