The Sharks have signed highly-rated Bulls defence coach Joey Mongalo, who will start a new role in Durban next month, Sport24 can exclusively reveal.

Sport24 confirmed with three independent, highly-placed sources at both the Bulls and Sharks, who confirmed Mongalo's departure. The sources asked for strict confidentiality, as the matter was still sensitive.

It's understood the Sharks are undergoing a major shake-up in their management ranks, while Mongalo is poised to occupy a prominent position in the structure that will be headed up by incoming director of rugby Neil Powell.
