As a student athlete at one of the most prestigious universities in SA, there would be times when Vince Jobo would have to scrounge out of garbage bins for something to eat.

Stocky, with the exact build and strength for the physically intense position he played, the flanker went to the University of Cape Town (UCT) on a rugby bursary and excelled as part of the 2014 Varsity Cup-winning Ikeys side.

Deep down, though, Jobo was suffering. He was going to matches, training sessions and even classes without having had a meal that day.
