Former Lions head coach Swys de Bruin has been named director of rugby at Varsity Cup outfit Shimlas.
According to Netwerk24, Andre Tredoux, who was previously involved at the University of the Free State, is the new head coach reporting to De Bruin.
Tredoux replaces Pote Human, who is set to join former Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer at American Major League outfit Houston SaberCats.
De Bruin, who is renowned for employing an attack-minded strategy, is also a former Springbok assistant coach, while Tredoux has coaching experience in Japan and also coached the NMU Madibaz in the Varsity Cup this year.
Other assistant coaches at Shimlas include former Springbok and Cheetahs flank Hendro Scholtz and ex-Bok and Stormers hooker Tiaan Liebenberg.
Shimlas finished seventh in this year's 10-team Varsity Cup standings, winning only two of nine games.
