Banyana Banyana played some sublime soccer in thrashing Mozambique in an African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) first-leg qualifier on Wednesday.
Desiree Ellis's charges ran out 7-0 winners in the away fixture played at Estadio Matola in Maputo.
Goals from Melinda Kgadiete, Linda Motlhalo and Gabriela Salgado in the first half, gave South Africa a comfortable 3-0 lead.
They didn't opt to cruise through the second half, however, and added to their score thanks to Janine Van Wyk, Salgado, Noxolo Cesane and Motlhalo.
Mozambique will travel to South Africa for the return leg that takes place on Tuesday, 26 October 2021 at Dobsonville Stadium.
The AWCON tournament will take place in July and August 2022 in Morocco.
