Cape Town – Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has requested a soccer workshop with all National Team coaches to discuss among other things the strategy and uniformity in approach to big matches.

The day-long workshop is taking place in Johannesburg on February 21.

Those attending the workshop are goalkeeper coach Alexandrio Heredia, Technical Director Neil Tovel, his assistant Fran Hilton-Smith, Under 17 women’s coach Simphiwe Dludlu, u20 women’s coach Maude Khumalo, Sheryl Botes and Performance Analyst, Shirlene Booysen.

The coaching staff will discuss the tactical approach especially to big matches, players mental strength and general conditioning.

According to Fran Hilton-Smith, it was critical to have a disciplined approach to games while exchanging notes between the coaches on their different experiences.

Hilton Smith said coach Baxter's hope was to prepare and make sure South African teams are mentally prepared for big games in general.

"It is a wonderful workshop in which all the coaching staff sit in the same room for the entire day just to discuss football matters. We hope that all of us, our national team coaches will come out of this workshop wiser and mentally stronger," Hilton-Smith conclude.
