The omnipresence of football boss Danny Jordaan hovered over Molefi Ntseki in the days leading up to Bafana Bafana's final lap in the quest to reach next year's Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Cameroon.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) president was at Bafana's training session before last week's clash against Ghana. After Thursday's 1-1 draw, he was seen having a stern-looking talk with Ntseki in the FNB Stadium tunnel, which was the harbinger to events that later unfolded.

However, after the national team failed in its mission, following Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Sudan in Khartoum, Jordaan was conspicuously absent at the press conference to announce sacking of the Bafana head coach.
