The Covid-19 era will force a change in sporting event attendance and Tuesday's World Cup qualifier between South Africa and Ethiopia was an example.

The game was the first one in the country which fans attended at the stadium since March 2020 and it came with a lot of trepidation.

Security guards were tetchy, agitated, but fair in meting out the law. It was necessary that they did so, especially considering that there would be fans who wouldn't familiarise themselves with the new way of doing things.
