Former Premier Soccer League referee Andile "Ace" Ncobo not only took notes from SA Rugby's director of rugby Rassie Erasmus's video playbook, but took it to a post-graduate level in minutely detailing how the South African Football Association will attempt to prove match manipulation in Sunday's 1-0 loss to Ghana.

Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye's performance in the 2022 World Cup qualifier at the Cape Coast Stadium not only raised opprobrium on the southern tip of the continent, but forced SAFA to approach the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA with its detailed report.

While the 31st-minute penalty Ndiaye awarded to Ghana, leading to the controversial penalty that Andre Ayew converted, isn't the crux of the complaint, it is Ndiaye's overall performance in the game that Ngcobo, a former FIFA referee turned match-management analyst with a prime spot on SuperSport, honed in on.
