Cape Town - Manchester United's pursuit for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof has moved one step closer after their head coach, Rui Vitoria, admitted he'd be open to any offers.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with the Sweden international for the past 12 months, and his compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic conceded the 22-year-old has the quality and mentality to represent the English Premier League giants.

A potential transfer fee of £38m has been mooted by British media, and Vitoria feels the club will be able to prepare themselves for the loss of the defender in the upcoming January transfer window.

"If it happens to a player we will be prepared and we will find solutions," he told reporters, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

"There is always the prospect of someone leaving and it does not have implications on our work.

"It could be anyone. Many of them have a lot of quality and are attractive in the market, especially at their age."

Lindelof made his debut for Västerås SK at the age of 16 before moving to Benfica in 2012.
