Cape Town - Wolfsberger striker Shon Weissman will not be making a move to the Premier League in January, according to the player's agent.

Israel international Weissman has been hitting the headlines for the right reasons this season after scoring 11 goals from just nine appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga after joining Wolfsberger AC in the summer from Maccabi Haifa, penning a two-year contract.

The 23-year-old has also impressed in the Europa League, bagging one goal from two matches, and his impressive performances are believed to have attracted interest from teams in the Premier League and across Europe.

Recent reports suggested Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United were all keeping tabs on the striker and there were big rumours a bidding war could occur between the trio in the January transfer window.

The Foxes have Jamie Vardy as their senior striker but Northern Irish manager Brendan Rodgers is said to be on the lookout for a suitable back-up option should the former England international pick up an injury, which would leave the 2015/16 English champions short in the striking department.

Spurs, who are enduring a torrid time on both the domestic and European stage at the moment, and the Hammers are also believed to be keen on adding to their attacking options and are interested in bringing Wiessman to the Premier League.

However, speaking about the Israeli's future, his agent confirmed his client is happy where he is and reports of a move to the Premier League are not true.

In an interview with Kleine Zeitung, he said: "That's not serious and is fictitious. It's a normal process (being in touch with other clubs) I will not burden Shon with such things.

"He signed a two-year deal at WAC three months ago and has only played 13 games for Wolfsberger, and he feels very comfortable here."

It appears the English trio will have to look elsewhere when January comes around if they are going to add to their forward options.
