The Sweden international joined the Red Devils this transfer window but is yet to make his Premier League debut, with Mourinho preferring Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, and Chris Smalling.
However, the 23-year-old remains optimistic about his future at the club and believes he is settling in well at Old Trafford.
Lindelof told Fotbollskanalen: "It's clear that you always want to play. It's tough competition with very good players. So we'll see how it goes, but of course you always want to play.
"I have just got to the club. The last training week has gone very well and I feel I'm getting into it more and more."
United next travel to the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City in an English Premiership clash on September 9 with Mourinho's men looking to continue their winning form.
