Atletico Madrid welcome back Griezmann as Real sign Camavinga
France forward Antoine Griezmann has made a shock return to Atletico Madrid just two years after leaving to join Barcelona, on the final day of a hectic European transfer window.
Real Madrid also bagged a French international star as Eduardo Camavinga arrived from Rennes -- but their attempts to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain failed.
World Cup-winning 30-year-old Griezmann, who scored 133 goals in his first spell with Atletico, has rejoined on a one-year loan deal with an option to extend by another year and an obligation to buy, the club said.

Boss Thomas Tuchel had hoped to be able to work with Sevilla defender Jules Kounde but Chelsea did not meet the release clause of the centre-back.
It meant Saul proved the only incoming player for the west London club on Tuesday with the 26-year-old eager to start this latest chapter in his career.

Tottenham complete move for Barcelona right-back Emerson Royal
Tottenham have completed the signing of right-back Emerson Royal from Barcelona on a five-year deal.
Spurs have spent £25.8million to secure the services of the four-capped Brazil international.
Emerson, who has spent the last two seasons with Real Betis, will provide greater competition at right-back for new Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Sao Paulo, first came to prominence in his native country with Ponte Preta and Atletico Mineiro before a move to Europe occurred in 2019.
A joint-deal with Barcelona and Real Betis saw the defender ply his trade in Spain, initially with the Seville-based side where he was a regular during each of the last two seasons.
Emerson officially signed for the Catalan club earlier this year but has now joined Tottenham, where he will be able to link up with his new team-mates later this week.
The right-back, who featured for Brazil in the Copa America this year, will not have to isolate on arrival in the UK from Spain and could make his debut in Spurs' Premier League fixture at Crystal Palace on September 11, subject to international clearance and a work permit being granted.

Liverpool defender Rhys Williams joins Swansea on loan for the season
The 20-year-old signed a new contract at Anfield, where he made 19 appearances in all competitions last season, before heading to Wales.
Williams told Swansea's official website: "I am buzzing, I have heard nothing but good things about the club and the manager from a few of the lads back at Liverpool, so I am delighted to be here.
"I am looking forward to getting some good results on the board and keeping us moving forward.
"I spoke to a few players about it, and they all spoke so highly of the football and the place itself, it's a club with a good history behind it.
"I was keen to come here, it was one of the places I wanted to come to because of the football they play.
"I believe it will stand me in good stead for next season. I am looking for regular football and I hope I can find that here at Swansea."

Welsh winger James leaves Man Utd to join Leeds
Leeds signed Wales winger Dan James from Manchester United in a deal worth a reported 25 million ($34 million) on Tuesday.
James agreed a five-year contract with Leeds after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford reduced his already limited first team opportunities.
The 23-year-old moves to Elland Road two years after Leeds' bid to sign him from his former club Swansea collapsed at the last minute."I have to say a huge thank you to my team firstly -- the football department have been monitoring Daniel for a number of years and every member of my team has worked hard to get this deal over the line," Leeds director of football Victor Orta said.
"It is no secret that Daniel is a player we have been keen to acquire for a number of years and today we achieved our goal.
"As a player we feel Daniel is an excellent fit for a Marcelo Bielsa team, he is quick, direct and works hard -- we look forward to him joining up with the squad, finally!
"James is Leeds' third major summer signing after Jack Harrison's extended loan deal from Manchester City was made permanent and the arrival of Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo.
After Leeds were unable to sign James in January 2019, he moved to United for 15 million the following summer.
He scored nine goals in 74 appearances for United in all competitions, starting in their win at Wolves on Sunday.
James started in all four of Wales' Euro 2020 matches and will now join up with the squad in Finland for Wednesday's friendly, ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and Estonia.

Mbappe's future dominates final hours of transfer window
A dizzying transfer window that has seen Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo change clubs went into its final hours on Tuesday with the issue of whether Kylian Mbappe could make a blockbuster move from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid still unresolved.
The future of Mbappe dominated the final day of a remarkable window in which Messi moved to PSG after spending his entire career at increasingly cash-strapped Barcelona and Ronaldo made a sensational return to former club Manchester United.
While the moves for 34-year-old Messi and 36-year-old Ronaldo represented a shift in world football's tectonic plates, the future of 22-year-old Mbappe is potentially more significant for the sport in the long term.
Already a World Cup winner, Mbappe's goals could vastly improve the fortunes of Real, who were beaten to the Spanish title by local rivals Atletico Madrid last season.
But having signed Messi to line up alongside Neymar and Mbappe in a formidable attacking trio, Qatari-owned PSG have been fighting to keep their striker in the face of a sustained offensive from Real.

AmaZulu have Nigeria striker Abegunrin on trial
AmaZulu reportedly have Nigerian striker Lukman Abegunrin currently on trial at the club under the watchful eye of coach Benni McCarthy.
Ahead of their first foray into playing CAF Champions League football, AmaZulu coach McCarthy is looking to add experienced players to his squad ahead of their opening match on 10 September at home against Malawi's Nyasa Big Bullets FC.
The 27-year-old Abegunrin has played for numerous sides - Crown FC in Nigeria, Serbia's FK Javor Ivanjica, Mozambique giants CD Maxaquene, FC Chibuto and Ferroviário, Portugal's Varzim, Oman Professional League club Al-Rustaq and Al Diriyah, before ending up at current side Real Kashmir FC in India where he won the MVP and Top Goal Scorer award in the Shield Cup.
McCarthy's big target had been Argentine attacker Facundo Juarez but when the move failed to materialise he was forced to look elsewhere for a quality striker to add to Usuthu.
Abegunrin has been a regular goalscorer wherever he has played and if he gets signed by AmaZulu could be the answer to the lack of goals being scored of late.

Dortmund keen to take Hudson-Odoi on loan
Borussia Dortmund will continue to push for a loan deal for Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi.
England winger Hudson-Odoi is yet to feature in the Premier League for Chelsea this term, despite starting the UEFA Super Cup penalties victory over Villarreal.
German giants Dortmund are keen to bring in the 20-year-old and deploy him in his favoured left-wing role, the PA news agency understands.
Hudson-Odoi has been determined to push for regular first-team action at Chelsea under first Frank Lampard and now Thomas Tuchel.
Former Paris St Germain boss Tuchel has used Hudson-Odoi as a wing-back in his 3-4-3 system at Chelsea.
While the 48-year-old Blues manager remains a vocal fan of Hudson-Odoi's attitude and his quality, he has also conceded the young England star could find his path blocked to an advanced left-sided role in west London.

Arsenal confirm Willian exit as Maitland-Niles pushes for move
Arsenal confirmed on Monday evening that Willian has left the club for Corinthians, hours after Ainsley Maitland-Niles took to social media to try to force a move away from the north London club.
Brazil winger Willian, who joined the Gunners from Chelsea 12 months ago, had two more years to run on his deal.
But Arsenal announced on Monday that the 33-year-old’s contract had been terminated by mutual consent.
The club added: "Following positive and constructive recent discussions with him and his team, he will be leaving for a new opportunity with Corinthians in Brazil, where he began his career."
Willian made 37 appearances for the north London outfit last season.
Versatile England midfielder Maitland-Niles, meanwhile, also made clear his wish to depart and took matters into his own hands in an effort to push for an exit before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
"All I wanna do is go where I'm wanted and where I'm gonna play, Arsenal," Maitland-Niles posted on his Instagram stories.
The 24-year-old has been a loan target for Everton in this transfer window, but the Gunners are understood to have rebuffed an approach from the Toffees.

Deeney joins boyhood club Birmingham following emotional Watford exit
Troy Deeney has signed a two-year deal with boyhood club Birmingham following his emotional exit from Watford.
The 33-year-old striker spoke of his sadness and pride on Monday evening after confirmation that his 11-year spell with the Hornets had come to an end.
His contract had been due to expire at the end of the season, but he departed as a free agent and was swiftly unveiled by Birmingham, subject to league clearance.
And the lifelong Blues fan was keen to point out the move was "not a swansong" as he embarked on his "biggest task to date".
He told Birmingham's website: "Everyone knows that this is my team, I've made that clear in the past, but if I was going to join Blues it had to be right for all parties.
"I believe in the existing project here and, having spoken to the gaffer and Craig (Gardner), can clearly visualise my role in the squad.
"There is an added pressure playing for the club you support, carrying that greater weight of expectation. But pressure is what I thrive on, it's what I have dealt with throughout my career, proving people wrong and silencing the naysayers, but I am very aware this is my biggest task to date.
"Now it is time to do that once again. This is not a swansong. This is my next chapter, and it is time to work."
